The Portage Area Cruisers Car Club is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary in 2006.

The Club was founded in 1996 by Barry George, Sr.. Barry has since passed due to an auto accident approximately two years ago. We all appreciate his accomplishment in starting the Portage Cruisers. Since the beginning, the Club has continued to grow.

Over the last 11 years the club has grown to over 100 members.

Some of the activities consists of a yearly scholarship offered to a student furthering their education in the automotive field, The club has named this scholarship

"The Barry George, Sr. Scholarship" in Barry's honor.

Matt Krumenacker is one of our 2007 scholarship winners

Vincent Yahner is the other 2007 scholarship winner.

Tyler Butterbaugh is the 2006 scholarship winner,

Mike Krozel was the 2005 scholarship winner and

Congratulations Matt, Vincent, Mike and Tyler!

Another activity of the club is a monthly cruise-in at McDonalds, Rt. 53, in Portage.

Our annual "Light Up the Night Car Show-Cruise-in",is aimed at the "younger or tuner car" motorheads and was held

Friday, August 10th, 2007 and our Annual Summerfest Car Show, Sunday August 12th, 2007.

Our Summerfest Car Show boosts of being one of the best and largest in the area, with around 300 or more participants.

The PACCC members help out the Summerfest Commitee. The members work a booth at the St.Michaels Heritage Days.

There are parties, picnics, and social gathering throughout the year.

In December the members wrap gifts at the Galleria Mall to help and support New Day, Inc.

Throughout the year there are fundraising events that raise money to support the club and the scholarship program..
